UPSC CAPF Assistant Commandant Recruitment 2024: Vacancies, Eligibility and Important Dates

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) issued its Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination 2024 notification on 24 April 2024 for Group A officer recruitment in BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP and SSB.

Eligibility and age limit

Educational qualification

Applicants were required to hold a bachelor's degree from a university incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India, or an equivalent qualification recognized under the examination rules. Candidates awaiting qualifying results were subject to the notification's conditions.

Age requirement as on 1 August 2024

The prescribed age was 20 to 25 years on 1 August 2024. Ordinarily, candidates had to be born between 2 August 1999 and 1 August 2004, both dates inclusive. Relaxations applied to eligible categories under the official rules, including up to five years for SC/ST and up to three years for OBC candidates, subject to applicable conditions.

Selection involved a written examination, Physical Standards Tests and Physical Efficiency Tests, medical assessment, and an interview/personality test, followed by final merit and allocation according to the applicable rules.
