When contacting a publisher or book agency, specify the book title, author, edition, ISBN and quantity required. For school and college textbooks, confirm the syllabus or prescribed edition. Institutions ordering multiple copies should request written quotations, availability estimates, delivery terms and applicable taxes.

Book publishing and distribution in Assam

Publishers typically manage manuscript development, editing, production and publication. Distributors supply books to retailers and institutional buyers, while booksellers offer titles directly to readers. A single business may perform more than one of these functions. Guwahati serves customers seeking Assamese, English and other language books, including academic and general-interest publications.
